Edgefield County Alliance: There will be no March meeting of the Alliance. The April meeting will be announced at a later date.

Sons of Confederate Veterans: The Martin W. Gary Camp will meet March 1, at 7 p.m. at Oakley Park with supper provided. Speaker will be Jack Parker with a presentation on William “Bloody Bill” Cunningham’s Bloody Scout Campaign. Mr. Parker will have copies of his book Parker’s Guide to the Revolutionary War in SC for sale.

Planning Commission: The Planning Commission meeting for Mar. 8 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 13.

BBQ Chicken Sale: Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church will have a BBQ Chicken Plate Sale on Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m. $6.50 will include ½ chicken, potato salad, slaw and bread.

Pre-School Registration: God’s Little Angels Pre-School will have open enrollment Sat., Mar. 10 from 8-10 a.m. at Edgefield First Baptist Church, 212 Church St., for the 2012-13 year. This is for ages 12. mo. – 4 years old. Bring birth certificate, immunization record, insurance card and $35 enrollment fee. Women’s Day: Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church will have Women’s Day on March 11 at 11 a.m. with guest speakers Jason and Dana Burden. The public is invited to hear this story of God’s mercy and grace as Jason and Dana tells the story of his 36 days in the Augusta Burn Unit after he came in contact with 7,200 volts.

Pastor’s Appreciation: Republican Grove Baptist Church will honor their pastor, Rev.Willie Patten, on his 11th Pastoral Appreciation, Sunday, March 18, at 11 a.m., Rev. David Colvin, pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, will be the guest minister. Everyone is invited to share in this occasion.

Blood Drive: Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold their February Blood Drive, Friday, March 30, from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Edgefield County Hospital and from 1:30-6 p.m. at Bi-Lo Shopping Center in Edgefield County.

Peach Blossom Beauty Pageant: The Johnston Miss Peach Blossom Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 31 at Johnston Elementary School Gymnasium at 10:00 and 3:00. Young ladies between the ages of birth-20 are invited to compete. A college scholarship will be given to the Miss Peach Blossom winner.
