Blood Drive: Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold their April Blood Drive, Friday, April 20, from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Edgefield County Hospital and from 1:30-6 p.m. at Bi-Lo Shopping Center in Edgefield County and on Wednesday,  April 25 from 1-5 p.m. at National Wild Turkey Federation, 770 Augusta Road, Edgefield.

 

Sunrise Service: Republican Grove Baptist Church(276 Gary Hill Road) will host Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 8, at 6 a.m. with breakfast to follow. Rev. Robert Hawkins of Science Hill Baptist will be the speaker. Everyone is welcome.

 

Alliance Meeting: The Edgefield County Alliance will meet Monday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the County Council Chambers with Mr. Roger LeDuc discussing the Edgefield County Strategic Plan.

 

Women & Men’s Day Program: Republican Grove Baptist Church(276 Gary Hill Road) will hold their Men and Women’s Day Program on Sunday, April 15, at 11 a.m. Rev. Oscar Brown of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Church will be the guest speaker. The public is invited.

 

Relay for Life Beauty Pageant: The 2nd Annual Edgefield County Relay for Life Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 at WE Parker Elementary School. This pageant is only for Edgefield County residents or if  attending school in Edgefield County. Young ladies birth-9 years old judged in church dresses and ages 10 yrs and older judged in long pageant dresses. Ribeye Steak Dinner: Johnston American Legion Post 154 will hold their fund raiser steak supper on April 14 from 5-7 p.m. The funds will be used to send local students to Palmetto Boy’s and Girl’s State. Tickets are $10 for steak, baked potato, slaw and roll. Purchase tickets early as there will be a limited number sold.

 

 7th Annual Wyman King Academy Auction: A Knight of Champions will be held on Saturday, April 14 from 5-9 p.m. This event will be held in the school gym at 1046 Sardis Rd. March For Parks-Earth Day Festival: at Bettis Academy in Trenton; Fri., April 13 from 5-8 p.m. a fish fry, sweet sale and Block Party; Sat., April 14 parade at noon followed by activities until 5 p.m.: Drum Presentaion by Attorney “Busta” Mosley, Ugly Truck Display, Fish Fry, foods, drinks and sweet sale, Country Store, music by Weston and Preston, Mt. Always Patsy Cline: Edgefield Theatre Company will present Always Patsy Cline, a musical play, April 20, 21, 27, 28, May 4 & May 5 at 8 p.m. and April 22 & 29 and May 6 at 3 p.m. at The William Miller Bouknight Theatre. For more information call 637-3833.

 

Benefit: Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1186 Mt. Calvary Road, Johnston, will host a benefit for Bud and Sarah Dampier and children Sat., April 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are $8 or whole chickens are $8.
