Friday, a Big Day in Johnston
As if painted against the Welcome Wall, citizens (including Mayor Livingston, standing far right) area shown watching the 5-7 p.m. broadcast by WJBF news anchors, Brad Means and Jenny Montgomery, and listening to music from the Blue Grass band (left).

The event in Johnston on Friday, the WJBF Hometown Tour, brought visitors and citizens out for the afternoon.  The day started with a luncheon, followed by tours that took WJBF out to the J. W. Yonce Peach Packing Shed.  Later, around 5:00, the TV crew gathered at the large parking lot next to the “Welcome to Johnston” mural for a 2 hour broadcast and music by the Blue Crass band called Flatland Express and by the Johnston Elementary School Chorus.

At the same time, the Farmer’s and Artist’s Market made their show of art and foods for the first time since last year.
