Auxiliary Jewelry Sale: The Edgefield County Hospital Auxiliary will hold its Spring Jewelry Sale in the hospital cafeteria, Thurs., April 26 from 8a.m. – 5 p.m. and Fri., April 27 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with proceeds to benefit the Edgefield County Hospital.
Farmer’s Market:Johnston will be holding a Special Farmer’s & Artist’s Market on Friday, April 27th from 4 – 7 p.m. on main street (Calhoun) in front of the Library/Warehouse. There will be herbs, gourds, plants (annuals & perennials), fresh fruits & vegetables in season (Cook’s strawberries weather permitting), jewelry, farm fresh eggs, note cards, Lion’s Club brooms, locally grown Shitake mushrooms, pottery by local potter, original paintings & prints by 3 local artists, and much more.
BBQ –Johnston United Methodist Church (Lee St. 1 block from Calhoun) CHICKEN BAR-B-CUE Saturday, April 28th,11:00 – 1:30,Plate 1/2 chicken, baked beans, slaw, bread, $7, dine in or take out, tickets may be purchased by any church member, church office, 275-4885, Maxwell & Halford 275-2021. Pulled pork $8/lb. and Hash $8/qt. first come first serve on the 28th. Baked goods are also available.
Singing: Singing with The Family Production, 35 Hillary Family members, at Mr. Zion Church, 720 Mount Zion Rd., April 29 at 6:00.
Morgan Reunion: The Thomas Calvin Morgan Family Reunion will be held May 6 at Gilgal Baptist Church at noon with dinner at 1 p.m. Plates, cups, forks, napkins and tea will be provided for the lunch you bring to share. Come and enjoy!
Homecoming & Revival: Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2896 Key Road, Plum Branch, will have their homecoming, May 6. The 11 a.m. service with Pastor Brantley Bryan will be followed by lunch. Revival services will be held each evening May 6-10 at 7 p.m. with Rev. John Noblin of Plum Branch Baptist Church as guest minister.

Fishing Rodeo: The Jimmy Shay Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held Sat., May 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lick Fork Lake for ages 12 and under. Sponsored by the Edgefield County Law Officer’s Association. There will be free fishing bait and tackle, free refreshments, and free prizes.
Grill Fest: Come meet the 2012 candidates on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the newly renovated Community Center on Macedonia Street. BBQ Chicken and Pork Dinners, Cakes and Drinks on sale. Sponsored by Edgefield Democratic Club.
