Five-year-old Corey Holmes led the Survivor’s Walk at this year’s Relay for Life event, Saturday. Corey, the son of Debbie and Wilbur Holmes of Johnston, is a leukemia survivor. While he is in remission, his stamina is still a little low, so he chose to drive his atv rather than walk the lap that kicked-off this year’s Relay for Life.

 

 

 

 

Jeannie Simpkins posed with Evelyn Mathis who has survived cancer for 3 years now.  The two were guests of at the Survivor Luncheon hosted by Relay for Life Saturday, April 28 at Strom Thurmond High School.

James and Lois Bush partook of the pulled-pork lunch served at Relay for Life’s Survivor Luncheon held the Strom Thurmond High School Saturday.  Mr. Bush proudly told the Advertiser that he is a 12 year survivor of cancer.
