First Citizens Ribbon Cutting

First Citizens Ribbon Cutting

First Citizens in Edgefield held their ribbon cutting and formal opening between 11:00 a.m. and noon on Wednesday.  The lobby of the bank was filled with well wishers, including elected officials and leaders from over the county.  The staff of the new bank site were greeting guests and reminding them of lunch to follow out back under the tent.

A large white tent stood welcoming the crowd in back of the bank building with a barbecue lunch that included all the trimmings. As the first people were being served the heavens opened up to present Edgefield, and hopefully beyond, with what folks had been praying for — a deluge. There had been sprinkles the day before, but this was a heavy rain that held people under the tent until cars began coming close to pick passengers up. Some few umbrellas served to help many in their scurry across the driveway and back through the bank.   They had to return to work.  Others waited it out.  It was a grand gift that topped a wonderful morning of speeches, a ribbon cutting, fellowship and food for all.
Two found this umbrella a help in getting back to work as the rainstorm brought more excitement to the First Citizens bank opening in Edgefield..
