Carrie Lindsey

EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Carrie Phillips Lindsey, 72, of 1090 Meeting Street, widow of Dennis C. Lindsey, died August 3, 2012, at her home.

Born in Edgefield County, she was the daughter of the late O.W. and Hurley Gilliam Phillips. She was a member of Willow Spring Baptist Church, WHAS #126 and a retired employee of Greenwood Mills.

She is survived by a son, Gregory(Doris) Lindsey of Columbia; two daughters, Vickie Lindsey of Johnston and Shawneike Lindsey of the home; three brothers, James Gilliam of Greenwood, George Phillips of Maryland and O. W. Phillips, Jr. of Ward; three sisters, Dorothy Holcomb of Washington, D.C., Maggie Phillips of Greenwood and Margaret Phillips of Edgefield; five grandchildren one great grand and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, at Willow Spring Baptist Church conducted by Elder Hodges Bush with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be place in the church at noon.

Butler and sons Funeral Home of Saluda is in charge.
