Transportation Meeting: Edgefield County Transportation Meeting has been changed from Sept. 6 to Sept. 20.

County Community Forum: The Edgefield County Community Center is conducting a county forum Saturday, Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. at the Center on Macedonia St., in Edgefield. The theme is Moving Forward. Your presence would be greatly appreciated.

District 3 Debate: District 3 School Board Debate will be held Sat., Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Collins Bldg. at Bettis Academy. The community is asked to please be a part and a voice.

Farmers’ and Artists’ Market: Johnston Farmers’ and Artists’ Market is held from 4-6 p.m. each Thursday. If interested in being a vendor call 275-4097.and learn how to become a better spiritual leader.

Brotherhood Program:The Brotherhood of the Pleasant Lane Missionary Baptist will have it’s 2nd annual Brotherhood program Saturday, September 8, at 4:00 in the afternoon. The public is invited.

Career Center Cosmetology Salon Opening: The Strom Thurmond Cosmetology Salon will be opening on Saturdays, Sept. 8, 22 and 29 from 8 a.m. to noon. For more info contact Jackie Kennion at the Career Center 275-1767 ext. 525. Call for appointments or walk-ins are welcome.

Church Anniversary: Mount Canaan Baptist Church(2451 Edgefield Road, Trenton) will commemorate its one hundred forty fourth year of existence through special praise and worship service on Sunday morning, September 9,  at 10 a.m. Rev. Daniel L. Johnston will be the guest speaker. The pastor, Rev. George L. Brightharp, and congregants invite you to be a part of this service. Please come!

American Girl Book Club: The club meets the first Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. for girls ages 7-12. The club is a way to share favorite books. Summer Revival: Rosa Hill Baptist Church will hold their annual Summer Revival Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 10 – 13 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Revivalists: Sept. 9 –  Bishop Dr. Emanuel Spearman, Sept. 10 – Rev. Eddie Woods, Sept.11 – Rev. Joseph Williams, Sept. 12 – Rev. Lemur Myers, and  Sept 13 – Rev. Edward Lloyd. Different choirs will perform each night.

Volunteers Needed: The Edgefield/McCormick/Saluda Counties Volunteer Guardian ad Litem Program is seeking people willing to speak up for a child. Training will begin Monday, October 10. This is a free thirty-hour course. Space is limited; please call (803) 637-9614 to reserve your seat.
