South Carolina Ultimate Adventure Deer Hunt

South Carolina Ultimate Adventure Deer Hunt

The heavily populated deer woods surrounding Edgefield and Saluda Counties in South Carolina will be filled with approximately 40 disabled hunters October 26th and 27th 2012. Many of these hunters will be anxiously waiting to fill their tags while others are hoping to get a glimpse of their first whitetail. This group of hunters will be participating in the 2nd Annual 2012 South Carolina “Ultimate Adventure Deer Hunt”.

The Saluda Shrine Club located at 1035 Johnston Hwy in Saluda, will be serving as the events base of operations. “We’re looking forward to great time. We’re hoping to host a minimum of 40 deserving kids and adults with various disabilities this year. These people can’t go and come like others, they need help”, said Shannon Enlow. “So far we have had a lot of interest from people wanting to get involved. We have land owners that want to donate their property for the hunt and we have a lot volunteers willing to sit with the participants and act as their guide’s. This just proves the point that there are some great caring folks around here. We couldn’t do it without their help. While, you can’t put a cost or a value on this we certainly want and need more land owners and volunteers to help.

Each disabled participate will be paired with at least one non-disabled guide. “The formation of hunting team’s is where it starts and happens. Its teamwork and it’s where the rubber hits the road”, said Kirk Thomas CEO/Founder. “Guides and volunteers will interact with the participants on a one on one basis to form a team. They’ll work together to overcome any challenge the hunting opportunity presents. They might get wet and muddy but they’ll make it happen. The disabled participants just want the opportunity to get out there and their guides just want to help. It doesn’t take long to see and understand this. We’re blessed to be able to bring this event to South Carolina again.

Including the SC. Ultimate Adventure OWL is hosting a total of six (6) “Ultimate Adventure Deer Hunts” in MS., GA., FL. and in AL. The Alabama “Ultimate Adventure” will be held December 8-11 in Troy, Al. It’s a monster and the largest hunt held for disabled participants in the world with approx. 150 disabled participants”. We prepare and feed (9) nine meals to an average attendance of around 750/800 people per meal, said Thomas.

There are an abundance of scheduled activities that are open to the public including the events “Kick off Dinner & Benefit” Friday night October 26th starting at 5:30. Single tickets $20.00/Couple tickets $30.00.

It’s going to be a very busy event, full of fun, excitement and great food. We want people to come get involved with this life changing and saving experience: said Shannon Enlow.
