Ridge Spring Donations go North to Sandy Victims

Jody Addy, Max Parrish and Layton Gwinn took donations from the Ridge Spring Community up north to New Jersey. All of the donated items from Ridge Spring were taken to Robbinsville, NJ. They departed Friday at 6:20 p.m. and drove through the night arriving at the Robbinsville Fire Dept. at 9:00 am on Saturday. The clothing was donated here to the Rescue Mission of Trenton, N. J. They are distributing it to those in need. They then took the food, cleaning supplies, pet food, blankets and remaining clothing to Air-Mods Flight Center in Robbinsville where volunteer pilots are flying the items to Staten Island and New Jersey destinations.

The overwhelming hospitality of everyone they met was very moving. They continually offered sincere thanks to everyone in Ridge Spring who gave of themselves for people who live over 700 miles away and that they do not even know. It was amazing to see such a great response from a fine little town such as Ridge Spring, and even more amazing to see the donated supplies going immediately into the hands of those who need them.
