Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests

patrolcarA routine traffic stop Sunday, Dec. 9, lead to the arrest of two individuals on drug charges.  According to a report filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the ECSO stopped a silver Lincoln Town Car that was traveling south on Hwy 25 South for erratic driving and for being registered to a man for whom there was an outstanding warrant with Edgefield County.  Once stopped, deputies noticed a white powder-like substance on the car’s floor.  The ECSO’s narcotic canine alerted on the vehicle, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the finding of several substances believed to be drugs.

The driver of the vehicle, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine (PWID) 1st, PWID Cocaine 1st, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and speeding.  The passenger in the car, was arrested and charged with PWID Crack Cocaine 2nd, PWID Cocaine 2nd, Possession of Marijuana 2nd, and was served with a bench warrant.  Both men were taken to the Edgefield County Jail.
