The Town of Trenton will hold a special election July 9, 2013 to fill the seat currently held by Billy Padgett on the Town Council.
Mr. Padgett will have to vacate this seat in order to assume his position as Mayor; a seat he acquired without need of an election because he ran unopposed for the position.
Additionally, there will be no election to fill the seats of Keith Sexton and Shannon Philpott as their positions were also uncontested.
The filing dates to run for the vacant seat on Council will be announced at a later date.
