STHS Cosmetology Department Hold 1st Annual Show

Fashion-Show-016Strom Thurmond Career Center Cosmetology Department had their 1st Annual Fantasy Hair Show on February 23, 2013, at 6 p.m. The Fantasy Wonderland Hair and Fashion show was an event created by the cosmetology students to show off their creativity in coloring, cutting: Mannequin hair styles, Nail Artistry, Fashion Design & more.

The Strom Thurmond cafeteria was overflowing with the support of families, friends and the community. The Rev. Eddie Freeman, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church was the Master of Ceremony and Mr. Christopher Henderson rendered mild melody music throughout the entire program, what a fantastic job these two young men provided.

The students had the opportunity to create fantasy styles on their mannequins and live models and then stood back to be judged by four great judges which were Charlotte Cheatham from Edgefield, Swacely Glover from North Augusta, Kathryn Pitts from Augusta, and Sharonda Kelly from North Augusta. The Fashion show was led off by Little Miss Abby Mims, Emme Mims, Ma’Khaiya Lovett, Elizabeth Yonce and Saliyan Talbert and followed by Prom Dress Models: Miss Courtney Jefferson, Haley Ryans, Ebony Johnson, Lydia Sinclair, Megan Barker, Brianna Santiago, Shanae Marshall and Shay Widner.
