Enjoyed a Visit to Edgefield to Dine

Dear Editor,

What a fantastic evening my friend and I had dining at the Olde Edgefield Grille Thursday evening. On the way back from a business trip to Atlanta we met friends for dinner at “The Grille” and it could not have been more pleasant! This has got to be one of South Carolina’s top culinary spots. Chef Travis is an artist with the fresh local ingredients of which he designs his dishes. From the appetizers of crab balls, fried green tomatoes and popcorn shrimp to the rich, decadent desserts, we could not have had a more satisfying meal.

The ambience was unusual in that our host had arranged for a table on the porch on this perfect Spring night. Evidently the Grille is adroit at fulfilling special guest requests. This was a first visit to Edgefield for my dining companion and he was “taken” by the beautifully landscaped downtown as we drove out. To sum up I’d have to say that the only thing better than the food at The Grille was the company of our Edgefield friends.

Sincerely,
