The 43rd festival for Trenton, June 14-15, 2013, will start on Friday evening, in the park, with Gospel Music, from 7-9 p.m. and promises to be exciting for a number of reasons.

“The entertainment is exceptional this year and should really excite the crowd.” This is Mike Lipscomb, chairman, speaking, when asked what he thinks will be outstanding this year.  Always a super festival for young and old, drawing visitors in the thousands, it was launched this year with some new leaders.  Past chairman Melody Boylston retired and Mike undertook the chairmanship.  He, of course, has a number of special people helping him.

As chairman, he saluted these folks with this statement: “. . . as the chairman for the festival I would like to recognize the board (Trenton Development Board) members and others who have made this festival a reality.  Board Members Keller Harmon,T-Shirts/Decorations; John and Sandra Moore, Sponsors; Dana Carpenter, Golf Carts/Advertising; Debbie Greene, Ice Cream/Drinks; and Carrol Clark, Parade/Advertising/Park Layout.  Others are: Sandra Grandy, Dignitaries,Food Vendors, Kids Rides and Arts&Crafts; John Olsen & Deke Tanks, Entertainment; Helen Carpenter, Country Store;  Julius/Jane Blume/George Whittle, Peaches; Doris Camp, Drinks/Decorations; Kim Fulford, Cakes/Pies; Shannon Philpot, Softball.

A final word from the chairman: “Come out and be a part of what makes living in rural South Carolina so special, and for our out-of-town guests, we look forward to meeting you and establishing new and lasting friendships.”
