David Sawyer of Saluda County was elected Chairman of the Upper Savannah Council of Governments Board of Directors during USCOG’s most recent board meeting June 24. It will be Sawyer’s second term as USCOG chairman; he was also Chairman in the 1980s. Sawyer will serve as Chairman during Fiscal Years 2014-2015.

USCOG serves the counties of Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick and Saluda counties, and its municipalities, assisting these local governments with community development, economic development, workforce development, planning, and grant writing, etc., as well as serving as the Area Agency on Aging.
