AUGUSTA, Ga. & JOHNSTON, S.C. – Out of only 27 high school football players selected from across the nation as part of the elite IMG ALL-MADDEN Team, three are athletes from the Augusta area: Jauveer Hammond, corner/quarterback/safety, all-area player and senior at Johnston, S.C.’s Strom Thurmond High School; Kenyatta Dunbar, linebacker/third-down back, all-area player and senior at Johnston, S.C.’s Strom Thurmond High School; and Vi’cente Walker, corner/wide receiver and sophomore at Lucy Craft Laney High School.

Hammond, Dunbar and Walker were chosen based on their exemplary on-field and classroom performance during the invitation-only IMG All-Madden Mini-Camp, held in Bradenton, Fla., on July 26-28, according to a news release by IMG. “The 2013 IMG Academy All-Madden Team members were selected by coaches with a wealth of collegiate and NFL experience, for their work ethic, leadership abilities and their ability to effectively apply what they were taught on the field,” said Chris Weinke, Director of Football, IMG Academy, former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner.
Hammond, Dunbar and Walker are also members of Sleeper Recruit, an Augusta-based sports mentoring program dedicated to helping young athletes achieve their highest potential. “Selection to the IMG ALL-MADDEN Team ranks these young football players at the top among their peers, leading to scholarship opportunities and important exposure,” said cofounder Rodney Tillman. “We are very proud of these young men and their hard work and look forward to their further achievements both on and off the field.”
