Legislative Delegation Meeting: The Edgefield County Legislative Delegation will meet on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held in the Edgefield County Council Chambers located at 225 Jeter Street, in Edgefield.

Hunting Heritage Banquet: The annual NWTF Hunting Heritage banquet is being held Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Old Kendall Mill located at 560 Norris St., in Edgefield. The event, sponsored by WKSX-FM, will feature door prizes, raffles, a live and silent auction and a catered dinner by Parklane Seafood. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at Turkey Shoppe on Main on the downtown square.

Johnston Elementary Bingo: Johnston Elementary School PTO will have a Hot Dog Supper and Bingo Night Thursday, Nov. 21 in the school cafeteria beginning at 5:30 p.m. Come out for a fun family evening and support the school.

Hospital Auxiliary Fall Bake Sale: Edgefield County Hospital Fall Festival Bake Sale will be held November 22, from 10am-2pm in the Employee Dining Room.  There will be homemade jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, cakes and breads.  The gift baskets will include donations from local merchants and Auxiliary members.  There will be a turkey and ham raffle too.  The public is welcome.

Soup Kitchen: Bland Baptist Church, 86 Bland Baptist Road, will hold a soup kitchen on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. – noon. Call 275-4083 for more info.

Pecan Sales: Festively wrapped chocolate covered, cinnamon glazed and glazed pecans will be available this year by the American Legion Post 30.  Same price as last year.  For advance ordering while supplies last call Bill or Jane Doolittle at 637-3722 or see an American Legionnaire.  Don’t miss out!

Christmas Tree Lighting: The Town of Edgefield will have their tree lighting on Friday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. Christmas carols will be sung and snow on the square is guaranteed.

Christmas Tour of Churches: The churches of Edgefield along with the Edgefield Historical Society will have the Tour of Churches at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Tour begins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and ends with refreshments at Magnolia Dale. For more info call 637-4104.

Johnston Dvp.  Corp.  Tree Lighting:The Johnston Development Corporation will open the Christmas season with the tree lighting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 2, at 6pm in the municipal parking lot. Christmas music will be sung and the Christmas story will be read.

Town Hall Meeting: The Democratic Party will have a town hall meeting at Macedonia Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 7 at noon. On 1-1-14 you will be asked to show one of the following ID’s at your polling place: SC Driver’s License or ID card issued by the SC DMV, SC Voter Registration with photo, Federal Military ID or US Passport. Year of  Jubilee Rally: Mount Canaan Baptist Church and Pastor, Rev. George L. Brightharp invite you to the Year of  Jubilee Rally, Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary, 2451 Edgefield Road, Trenton.
