Veterans Day Celebration: Johnston Elementary School invites all veterans to participate in our Veteran’s Day Celebration on Friday, Nov. 8. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. A parade will be held at 8 a.m. followed by a program in the gym at 8 a.m.

Veterans Tribute: W. E. Parker Elementary School invites all veterans to a program, a musical tribute, in their honor on Nov. 8, at 8:45 a.m.

Oyster Roast: Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce will hold an oyster roast, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m. in the Johnston Municipal Parking Lot. The roast will benefit Fox Creek, Strom Thurmond High, and Wardlaw Academy. Tickets are being sold at First Citizens Banks, Regions Bank, SRP Federal Credit Union, Turkey Shoppe and the Chamber.

Veterans Day Program: This year’s Veterans Day program will be hosted by Edgefield Post 6932 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in the town square on November 11,, at 3:00 p.m. There will be entertainment, singing and a chance to celebrate with our veterans.  Come join us there. In case of rain will be held at the American Legion Hut on Penn St. Veterans should meet 15 min. ahead of time in front of Wells Fargo Bank.

Fall Revival: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will have their annual Fall Revival, Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 13 & 14 @ 7:30 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Edward Lloyd, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church. The public is invited. Rev. Lewis Burt is pastor.

Fall Book Fair: W.E. Parker Elementary invites you to their Fall Book Fair, Nov. 18-22, 7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. For more information contact Melissa Nicholson at  637-4020.

 Edgefield County Republican Party: Matt Moore the SC Republican Party Chairman will be at the County Council Chambers at 225 Jeter Street, in Edgefield on November 19.  The meeting will be at 7pm with a Meet and Greet Preceding at 6:30pm.  Come join us for an update on the latest issues in SC and National Politics.

Hospital Auxiliary Fall Bake Sale:Edgefield County Hospital Fall Festival Bake Sale will be held November 22, from 10am-2pm in the Employee Dining Room.  There will be homemade jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, cakes and breads.  The gift baskets will include donations from local merchants and Auxiliary members.  There will be a turkey and ham raffle too.  The public is welcome.

Class Dance: STHS Class of 77 presents Flash Back to the 70’s, Friday, Dec. 13, at 9 p.m. Cost is $10 per person, no money taken at the door. Prize for the best 70’s outfit. To purchase tickets and for more info call 803-275-6167, or  803-275-7862 or 706-373-4031.
