In honor of Veterans Day, the Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests will offer a fee free weekend Saturday through Monday, Nov. 9-11, 2013, waiving fees charged at day-use fee sites on all four districts, and overnight camping fees at campgrounds on the Enoree and Long Cane ranger districts.
“It’s our privilege to honor the commitment of our veterans and members of the U.S Armed Forces by waiving fees at popular national forest recreation sites over the holiday weekend,” said Forest Supervisor Rick Lint. “The fall season offers prime opportunities for family fun as well as the promise of spectacular forest foliage.”
On the Francis Marion National Forest, day-use fees will be waived at Buck Hall recreation area and at the Wambaw Cycle Trail.
On the Sumter National Forest day-use fees will be waived at the Fell, Lick Fork and Parsons Mountain recreation areas and at the Cedar Springs and Parsons Mountain OHV trails on the Long Cane Ranger District, and at Buncombe Horse Trail and Enoree OHV Trail on the Enoree Ranger District.
Camping fees will be waived Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights at Fell, Lick Fork and Parsons Mountain campgrounds on the Long Cane Ranger District; and at Brickhouse and Woods Ferry campgrounds on the Enoree Ranger District.
