Doris McDaniel Bussey

MODOC, S.C. – Mrs. Doris McDaniel Bussey, 81, of Hwy 23 West, wife of the late Claude Curtis Bussey, passed away Thursday December 19, 2013 after a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday December 22, 2013 at 3 P.M. at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bussey was a native of Edgefield, S.C. and was the daughter of the late Leland and Kate Hammond McDaniel. She was a retired Supervisor in the Veterans Affairs office at Augusta State University. She was a member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was very active in Sunday School and numerous committees for the church. She was active in the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission in Villa Rica, Ga. and was a member of the USC Gamecock Club for over 30 years. She enjoyed her time at Twin Oaks Boating Club at Clarks Hill with family and friends and also enjoyed her trips abroad.

Survivors include 2 sons- Terry Bussey, Ronald Curtis (Andrea) Bussey; 1 Brother- Marion (Bug) McDaniel and his wife Alberta; 1 brother-in-law- Jack Edward Mixon, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother- Vernon (Diggie) McDaniel, and a sister- Margie McDaniel Mixon.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
