Albert Bland Turner, Sr.

JOHNSTON, S.C. – A Memorial Service for Albert Bland Turner, Sr, age 84, will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Mt of Olives Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the service. Bland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Turner, a native of Johnston, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, February 2, 2014 at Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. He was a son of the late W.W. Sr. and Elberta Bland Turner. Albert retired from the US Postal Service, was a former member of Kadosh Masonic Lodge 181, served in the SC National Guard for 20 years, and was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church where he formerly served on the Deacon Board.

Survivors include his wife: Nancy Corley Turner; sons: Al Turner, Jr. (Melissa) and Mark Turner; daughter: Marion Turner, all of Johnston; and grandchildren: Wes, Shelby, Grace and Ethan Turner; nephew: W. W. Turner, III (Bill) and niece: Toni T. Hauver, Concord, NC. He was predeceased by a brother: W. W. Turner, Jr. (Billy).
