Jewelle DeLaughter Fiske

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into Heaven Sunday, May 18, 2014 to join her husband, Buddy Fiske, who entered Heaven on May 2, 2014, Mrs. Jewelle DeLaughter Fiske, 81.

Mrs. Fiske was born in Edgefield, SC. She was a 1954 graduate of the Atlanta College of Art in Interior Design and was a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She was the first Youth Director at First Baptist from 1957-1961. Through her very talented interior design gift, she enhanced many homes and businesses in the Augusta area for over 35 years. Her most recent project was helping with the design of First Baptist Chapel. Additionally, she taught the Interior Design class in Continuing Ed at Augusta State for 20 years. She was a very active member of First Baptist.

Family members include children: David Fiske (Susie), Julie Berry (George), Chip Fiske (Joy), John Fiske; grandchildren: Jeremy Fiske (Taylor), Mandy Jenkins (Will), Martha Kate Hall (Jason), Kevin Berry (Whitney), Ray Smalley (Justina Anaclerio), Chiles Fiske; 4 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Ecie DeLaughter and Kathryne Hopkins; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers: J.R., Francis, and Marion DeLaughter.

Special appreciation is expressed to Dr. Bromer, Dr. Hudson, Carla, Dennis, and staff at Augusta Oncology and to Comfort Keepers.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the George Balentine Sunday School. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Fund of First Baptist Church of Augusta, P.O. Box 14489, Augusta, GA 30919. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors.
