Trenton Council Deals With Rental Issues

– By Tiffani Ireland –

The Trenton Town Council approved a rental for $500 a month with Norfolk Southern for railroad easement at their monthly meeting, Wednesday, May 14.  In a related matter, Council was made aware that the Episcopal Church on the Ridge will be terminating its lease with the town for space they have been renting above the Trenton Library.  With this property now available, Council was asked to bring ideas of what to do with this empty space to next month’s meeting.

Council was advised that the PARD project for the town has been completed.  That project encompassed work done at the Trenton Ball Field and included benches and bleachers, new fencing and, where necessary, replacement of fencing, and the replacement of the lower windows at the Trenton Gym with Plexiglas.  Council was also made aware that the painting project at the library has been completed, and, as the area to be painted was smaller than originally believed by the painter, the cost of the work was reduced to reflect this.

With no other business to discuss, Council adjourned.
