Seven Local Girls Selected to Attend Palmetto Girls State

The American Legion Auxiliary of South Carolina is again sponsoring Palmetto Girls State.  This year’s program will run June 8 through June 14 on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton. Hezzie Griffis Unit 30 is pleased to be able to send 7 girls from this area for a week of learning about duties, rights, and responsibilities of American Citizenship.  Palmetto Girls State is recognized as one of the premiere youth programs within the state of South Carolina and nationally.  Selection to attend this program is an honor and is recognition of a girl’s accomplishments and outstanding record in high school. Pictured below are rising seniors who have been selected to go: Rachel Sanders and Parker Wilkes of Wardlaw Academy; Antonia Adams, Morgan Reel, and Amanda Horton – Strom Thurmond High; Paige Fowler and CarolineYano – Fox Creek High.
