TranTech Re-Opens Edgefield Facility

Earlier this afternoon TranTech Radiator Products re-opened their Edgefield manufacturing facility and was able to resume normal manufacturing activities.

The plant re-opened after employees and vendor partners were able to replace/repair all damaged equipment in the Edgefield facility and thorough tests were completed to ensure employee safety.

“I want to personally thank those dedicated employees and valued vendor partners who worked so hard to not only get our plant running again so quickly, but their thoughtfulness of making sure that safety was at the heart of how we conducted the repairs,” stated TranTech President Greg Horton.

“The process allowing us to restart operations today was a humbling experience.  It reminded me of the commitment our employees have to their professions, how much our vendors and customers appreciate our work, and how much the community cares about the TranTech family,” said Horton.   “The outpouring of support from Edgefield and the surrounding communities has been overwhelming.”

This comes one week after an incident (June 9th) at the facility halted production, injuring three employees.  Two of those employees are now recovering at the Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia and the other was released from the hospital the same day.   No further information will be released today about the injured workers.

“Despite the sense of accomplishment we feel from being able to restart so quickly due to our great employees and business partners; all of our hearts hang heavy thinking of those two men recovering in Augusta.  We never want to see another member of the TranTech family injured.   I’m certain that I speak for our organization in stating that those two men are in our thoughts and prayers.”

TranTech officials continue to comply with all governmental inspections and are pro-actively investigating the incident to discover the root cause of the incident.  This will allow TranTech to implement further safety procedures so they can continue to increase workplace safety.
