Johnston Farmers Market: with seasonal fruits & vegetables, baked goods, artist’s painting, etc.  is held Thursday afternoons from 4 until 6 pm.

CSRA Family & Friends Day: July 19 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Bettis Academy Park; free food, fun and school supplies.

Reunion: The Sullivan Family will hold its 2014 reunion in Augusta, Ga. Friday, July 18 – July 20 with an Edgefield speaker.The event will culminate with services at Carey Hill Baptist Church. There will be 3 days of fun, food and reconnection.

Edgefield Cruise In: The Edgefield Cruise-In on the Square, Sat. July 19, 4 to 7 p.m. rain or shine.  People with classic cars, trucks or motorcycles are invited to park on the square and enjoy the atmosphere of dozens of car enthusiasts.  Spectators are invited but asked to park outside of the square area to make room for the Cruise In attendees. Spaghetti Dinner: The Civic League will be selling spaghetti dinners as a fundraiser for their organization and to benefit the Edgefield Cemetery Association  during the Cruise-In on Sat. July 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. Eat in at 104 Courthouse Square, the Tompkins Library,  or take out a spaghetti dinner complete with salad, bread, and beverage.  Availability is limited so buy your tickets today at Edgefield Mercantile, First Citizens Bank or Tompkins Library.

7UP Program: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Johnston is having their 7UP program Sunday, July 20, at 4 p.m.  with 7 dynamic speakers. The public is invited. Rev. Lewis Burt is pastor.

Family & Friends Day: Pleasant Lane Baptist Church, 12 Peterson Lane, Edgefield will hold a Family & Friends Day Celebration July 20 with Sunday School at 9:30, Worship Service at 10:45 followed by Fun and Picnic Style Fellowship for family and friends on the church grounds(BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn, baked beans, coleslaw, cakes and pies). Tuesday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. is Fun with Robots when we will build robots with Legos.  This if for younger children.
Friday, July 25 at 4:00 p.m. is a Forensic Feast when we will make gelatin brains and eyeballs and learn about the forensic sciences.  This is a teen event
Thursday, July 31 at 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. is the End of Summer Reading Party.  Celebrate the end of summer reading with a hot dog cook out.  This is a family event. Volunteers are greatly appreciated.  If you can help with any of these programs, please call the library at 637-4025.

Huguenots– Huguenot descendants and other persons interested in French Huguenot history will gather at John de la Howe School in McCormick County on Sunday, August 3, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the Huguenots at New Bordeaux in August 1764.
