Annette Mance McCain

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – On Monday, August 4, 2014, Ms. Annette Mance McCain, 75, of Edna Street entered into eternal rest. She was the daughter of the late Robert Mance, Jr. (Beatrice) and the late Rosa Bell Brunson Mance. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Second Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born in Edgefield County and reared in Aiken, SC.

She joined Second Baptist Church in Aiken, SC at the early age of nine and served faithfully until she became a member of Second Providence Baptist Church of North Augusta, SC, where she served faithfully singing on the Mass Choir, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Prayer Warriors Team.

She also volunteered on the Prayer Team at TV49 in North Augusta, SC. She was a 1957 graduate of Martha Schofield High School and a 1961 graduate of the esteemed Tuskegee Institute of Tuskegee, Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.

In 1967, she was united in marriage to Dr. Thomas C. McCain. This union was blessed with two daughters, LaSonya and Carol. She leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, LaSonya D. McCain of Edgefield, SC and Carol J. McCain of Lyman, SC; a well loved mother, Beatrice Johnson Mance of Trenton, SC; a treasured brother, Curtis (Irene) Mance of Aiken, SC; six loving sisters, Beatrice Louise (Min. Walter) Scott of Trenton, SC; Betty Jean Moseley of Aiken, SC; Tippi Johnson of North Augusta, SC; Johnelle (Lawrence) Bing of Trenton, SC; Doris Ritter of Minnesota and LaVerne Justice of Aiken, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Second Providence Baptist Church Youth Department Ministry.

Friends may call the residence of her daughter, LaSonya D. McCain, 309 Columbia Road, Edgefield, SC or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
