Trailer Stolen from Local Peach Business

A forklift trailer was reported stolen from J.W. Yonce and Sons, Saturday, August 9. According to a report filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, the trailer was stolen sometime after 6:30 on Friday, August 8. The trailer is described as being black, 14 feet long, and having fold down rear ramps. The estimated worth of the trailer was listed as $5,000. The ECSO is investigating this incident.

Joy Ride Leads to Charges

An eighteen year old man from Martinez, GA, was charged with malicious injury to real property, Sunday, August 10, after he was stopped for joy riding on Loblolly Lane in Trenton. A report filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office states that a complaint call came into dispatch offices reporting a blue Ford F-150 was tearing up the aforementioned roadway. The vehicle was located, and the driver, who said he was in the area visiting a relative, admitted to being on the road earlier in the day playing. That playing resulted in several spin marks and rutted areas in the ditch of the roadway. The damage to the road was photographed, and if convicted, this joy riding could cost the young man in this incident 30 days in jail and/or fines which may include cost of damage and court fees. The suspect is due in magistrate court to face these charges Sept. 24.
