Maxie Ray Prince

ALBANY, Ga. – Maxie Ray Prince, 81, of Albany, GA died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mackey Funeral Home, Greenville, SC. Rev. Ken Kessler will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Edgefield, SC, Mr. Prince had resided in Albany, GA since 1997 moving from Nashville, GA. He was retired from AMOCO Textiles as the manager of specialty products. He had served in the National Guard during the Korean War and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine R. Prince.
Survivors include two sons, Ray E. Prince (Ilene), Leesburg, GA, Timothy P. Prince (Julie), Sandy Springs, GA, special friend, Joan Nobles, Toccoa, GA, three brothers, William Prince, Edgar Prince and Ned Prince all of Edgefield, SC, a sister, Bess Tripp, Edgefield, SC, two grandchildren, Paige Prince Swearingen, Thomasville, GA and Kendra Fulford, Kennesaw, GA.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at Mackey Funeral Home, Greenville, SC.
