Persimmon Hill News

– By Tom Quattlebaum –

We had good numbers for the weekend with cool weather. I didn’t play Saturday in one of my more sane moments. Ten started out. The first clap of thunder brought Chuck Collard to the clubhouse and the first hard rain had Bernard Trotter in as well. To protect the reputation of the other eight, I won’t name names, but you know who you are. Jimmy Gillian had a nice eagle on 11 Sunday and Roger B. knocked one in from the fairway on 17 as their team coasted to the win. The members pitched in to help by a hole cutter and gauged by the number of birdies made on Sunday, it must be helping. I heard rumors that Dray Wannamaker had five birdies during Sunday’s round. James Brindel had a fine round shooting 78. Kable Corley shot 31 on the front earlier in the week and posted a 68. The recent rains have greened up the course and the greens are putting true. Come out and join us for a dogfight or just play a quick round. You’ll love the course and the conditions.
