Three “Good Citizens” in One Family

Three “Good Citizens” in One Family

mrs.-williamsIt is amazing and noteworthy when a senior in high school is voted as the Good Citizen by the faculty of that school.  Parents, friends, and fellow students readily congratulate the honoree and willingly tell why that person should indeed be considered the Good Citizen.  What can be said, however, when three generations are recognized for that same award?  It is truly remarkable when mother, daughter, and granddaughter receive that same award.  Congratulations have already gone out to Rachel Sanders, the Good Citizen for Wardlaw Academy.  Now, it is time to congratulate her again along with her mother, Martha Sanders, and her grandmother, Elaine Williams.  Martha won the same award when she was a senior in high school.  Rachel’s grandmother, Elaine Williams, won the same award when she was a seniorat Sandersville High School in Washington, Georgia.  This award is given by the local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution in association with high school faculties who actually choose the winner.  It is truly a great honor to think that three outstanding women from one family have received this award.  Congratulations go out to each of them.
