Virginia Jackson Crawford

EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mrs. Virginia Jackson Crawford, of Country Place wife of Mark Crawford passed away Saturday August 22, 2015 after an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday August 25, 2015 at 2 PM at Edgefield United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Mrs. Crawford was the daughter of the late Homer and Florence Jackson and was a member of Edgefield United Methodist Church. She graduated from Edgefield High School where she was a cheerleader and excelled in basketball. She graduated from Newberry College where she was a cheerleader, and then received her Master’s Degree at the University of South Carolina in Library Science in 1976. She was the head librarian at Leavelle McCampbell High School in Graniteville; she was the first librarian at Midland Valley High School and finished her librarian career at Strom Thurmond High School in 1992.

Survivors include her husband; 2 sons Eddie (Brenda) Caddell, David (Trista) Caddell; 1 sister Beth (Bill) Cali; 1 brother Jack (Billie Ray) Jackson; 5 grandchildren Lee Doolittle, Brittany Los, Alana, Anna, and James Caddell and a beloved pet dog Clemson Tiger and countless friends.

Memorials may be made to Edgefield United Methodist Church Children’s fund P.O. Box 25, Edgefield, SC 29824.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM before the Service at the church fellowship hall.

Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
