EDGEFIELD, S. C. – Mr. Emmett Quarles, 87, of Columbia Road, entered into rest April 16, 2012. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Myers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Quarles a native of Edgefield County was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Eddie Lou Parks Quarles; 9 daughters, Deloris (Clarence, decease) Lanham, Ollie (Willard) Hinton, Barbara (James) Phillips, Emmie (Terrance) Jefferson, Robbie R. (James) Polly, Pamela (Craig) Brunson, Laura Elaine (Robert) McKelvin, Paulette Endwele and Shelia (George) Chamberlin; 6 sons, Clemson (Mary) Quarles, Joe Willie (Linda) Quarles, Gonzalee Quarles, Johnny Quarles, Michael Quarles and Ronica Quarles; sister, Jessie Holloway; brother, Jody (Mattie) Quarles; 42 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call the residence or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
