Special Easter Services at Spann
Steve Hendrickson accompanies the hymns about the Cross as Pastor John Kneece leads the congregation.

Always a devoted group joins together at Spann Church, devoted to the old church and its history and mission.  Some are members; some are friends. They were there on Good Friday evening to follow a service led by Pastor John Kneece.

Kneece read from the Book of John, a new translation, and talked of who was there at the time of the crucifixion and what part they played.  His message was that in a way we were all there and may have been compared to each of the biblical characters and their responses, all too human: Peter, Judas, and Pontius Pilot – as well as Mary the mother and Mary Magdalene.

A special guest, Steve Hendrickson who plays the trumpet for the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center, accompanied each of the hymns which were about the Cross. Pastor Kneece, himself a musician, led in the singing.
