Flag Burning: Edgefield American Legion Post 30, Penn Street, will have a flag burning ceremony Thurs., March 21 at 5:30. Anyone is welcome to bring their worn or faded flags for proper disposal. You can also drop your flag off on the porch of the post home or at the Veterans Affairs Office.

STCC Salon: open this Saturday, March 23 from 8:00am till 12noon, walk-ins are welcome.

Journey to Easter: Edgefield United Methodist Church invites you to attend Journey to Easter, Sunday, March 24, at the Legion Hut on Penn Street in Edgefield; two performances 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. This journey will include the Jerusalem marketplace with live animals. Miracles of Jesus, the Last Supper, and Jesus’ death on the cross and the resurrection. There is no charge. Refreshments will be served. No parking at the Legion Hut. Parking will be directed.

Pastor’s Installation: Science Hill Baptist Church will have their pastor’s installation service, Pastor Lorenzo Williams, on March 24 at 3 p.m. The guest speaker for the event is Rev. Ernest Gordon of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Johnston.

Twelve Tribe Program: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Johnston will have their Twelve Tribe Program, Sunday, March 24 at 5 p.m. The public is invited. Rev. Lewis Burt is pastor.

RSMHS Groundbreaking: 3/27/2013 (6:00 PM) – The Aiken Co. School Board announces that the groundbreaking ceremony for the new addition at Ridge Spring – Monetta High School on the grounds of Ridge Spring- Monetta High School.  The public is invited.

Town Hall Meeting: Senator Shane Massey will hold a “town hall” meeting in Merriwether Middle School’s cafeteria on Thursday, March 28, 2013, 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  Sen. Massey will provide an update on the 2013 legislative session and answer questions from constituents.

Spring Revival: Mount Canaan Baptist Church will have Spring Revival on March 27, 28, 29 at 7 p.m. each evening. The gospel will be preached by Rev. Martris Mims of  Augusta, GA. We, the congregation, and pastor. Rev. George L.Brightharp are inviting all to attend. Please come!

Easter Sunrise Service: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Johnston is having their Easter Sunrise Service, Sunday, March 31, at 5:30 a.m. The public is invited. Rev. Lewis Burt is pastor.

Sunrise Service: Republican Grove Baptist Church at 276 Gary Road will host Sunrise Service on Sun., March 31 at 6 a.m; with breakfast to follow. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Willie Patten is pastor.

Sunrise Service: The Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 3300 Martintown Rd., Edgefield, invites everyone to join us for Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, March 31 at 6:30 a.m. to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Breakfast will be served after our service. Rev. Rodney Edmond is pastor.

Sunrise Service: Dry Creek Baptist Church in Ward,  will be celebrating Easter with a Sunrise Service on March 31,  at 7:00 AM.  The service will be led by pastor Rev. Barry Epps. Sacraments of communion will be included as a part of the service.  After the service, an Easter breakfast will be served in the fellowship hall.The church family invites everyone to attend.

Beauty Pageant:  Johnston Miss Peach Blossom Festival beauty pageant will be held on Saturday, April 6, at Johnston Elementary School at 10:00 and 3:00. Young ladies between the ages of birth-20 are invited to compete. The Miss (17-20) will be awarded a scholarship to the college of her choice. The deadline for applications is Wed., March 27. Friends of the Library : (FOL) wants your support to enhance Library services.  Join us for a tax-deductible $25, dropped off at the Library anytime between now and May 31.  We meet at the Library every third Thursday of the month at 5PM.

Golf Tourney: Johnston United Methodist Church 2nd Annual Golf Tournament will be played at Persimmon Hill Country Club on April 20, at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds go to the Johnston Food Bank and the JUMC Mission Fund.
