One Day of Crimes Results in Over $12,000 of Stolen Items

Two separate crimes in Edgefield County, Thursday, June 13, resulted in the theft of over $12,000 worth of items.  According to reports filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Woodward Lake Road in Trenton Thursday afternoon to find that an EZ GO Golf Cart with 6 new batteries as well as 6 aluminum recess can lights had been stolen.  According to the homeowner, the golf cart had been removed sometime during the day from the home’s carport area.  The total estimated value of the items taken from this location was given as $3,1000.

In the second incident, deputies with the ECSO responded to Virgil Wall Road where they found an estimated $9,685 worth of items had been stolen from a residence there.  In total, 5 guns, 4 bows, 2 laptop computers, a jewelry box, 7 pieces of jewelry, a set of headphones, and 2 chainsaws were taken.  While the items were kept at various locations about the property, deputies were able to locate a possible entry location that was used to obtain access to the inside of the home.

Evidence was collected from at least one of the scenes, and the ECSO is actively investigating each of these crimes.  Anyone with information regarding these or any other crimes is asked to call the ECSO at 637-5337.
