GREENWOOD, S.C. – Zimmerman “Zent” Cockrell, 79, formerly of 221 Duke St., widower of Judy Clark Cockrell, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab Center, Edgefield.
Born in Saluda County, he was the son of the late Huck Cockrell and Lulla Mae Cockrell. Zent retired from Greenwood Mills and served in National Guard. He was a member of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his children, Jacky Cockrell (Karen), Kathy Edgerley (Wilbur), Ricky Cockrell, Nicky Cockrell, and Jeffery Cockrell; and step children, Kathy Brewer and Mike Duffie (Kathy); 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Eric Dawson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jamey Cockrell, Cody Quattlebaum, Brad Cockrell, and Christopher Cockrell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Harley Funeral Home.
