HEMPSTEAD, N. Y. – Mrs. Volma Bouknight Rearden, 77, of Wellington Street, entered into rest December 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Springfield Baptist Church of which the Rev. Craig Myers is the pastor and the Rev. G. L. Brightharp officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Rearden, a native of Edgefield County was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church, Trenton, SC and Zion Baptist Church, Port Washington, NY.
Survivors include her husband, Jasper T. Rearden, Hempstead, NY; a daughter, Christsantha Rearden, Augusta, GA; a son, Jasper Sol Rearden, Riverdale, MD; a sister, Margaret Pauline Dorsey, Johnston, SC; two brothers, Andrew R. Bouknight, Aiken, SC and Curtis (Robbie) Bouknight, Hempstead, NY; a grandson, Travis L. Roland, Jr., Augusta, GA; a great grandchild, Shariyah T. Roland, Spartanburg, SC; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bouknight, Hempstead, NY; Mary McCain, Janie Ruth (Robert) Osborne and Martha Rearden, Edgefield, SC and Sara B. Rearden (Nigel L. Haynes) Burtonsville, MD; five brothers-in-law, James Rearden, Philadelphia, PA; Elijah (Ruthella) Rearden, North Augusta, SC; George Rearden, Orangeburg, SC; Joseph Rearden, Aiken, SC and David Rearden, Edgefield, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.
