EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mrs. Elsie McDowell Quarles, 86, of Edgefield, wife of the late Lonnie Quarles, passed from this life January 12, 2014 at Agape in West Columbia.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday January 16, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield. There will be a visitation held from 1 to 2 P.M. before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Quarles was a native of Edgefield, S.C. and a member of Edgefield First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She retired from Reigal Textile in Johnston and she enjoyed baking and sewing. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include 3 daughters- Marcia Quarles, Anne (Willie) Wood, Kathy (Wayne) Wilkerson; 4 Grandchildren- Lydia, David (Lynn), Amy (Chris), Tommy (Ashley), and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Mrs. Quarles was predeceased by her husband, and Parents- Harvey and Martha McDowell.
The family would like to thank the staff of Agape Harbison and Agape of West Columbia. They would like to personally thank Amelia Jackson, who was an angel to Elsie.
