Bettie Mae Stevens Coutts

EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mrs. Bettie Mae Stevens Coutts, 72, of 188 Adams Road, died on Monday, July 13, 2015, in the Aiken Medical Center.
She was born in Saluda, SC, daughter of the late Howard Ida Bell Clarks Stevens Roper.. She was a faithful member of the Bible Way Church of Saluda, where she served as a Missionary, Praise Team Leader, Choir member and an Evangelist.  She was also a member of the WHAS #126.  She was a retired from Edgefield County School District where she worked in Food Service
Those left to cherish and honor her life; her daughters, Tawanna Cannady and Trevino Hubert both of Virginia Beach, VA; her son, Selwyne Cannady of Atlanta, GA; four brothers, James H. (Annie Ruth) Stevens, Clinton, MD, Gilmore (Emma) Stevens and Reverend Sam (Betty) Stevens both of Edgefield, SC and Minister Joseph (Rosetta) Stevens of Johnston, SC; sisters, Gloria (James) Burton and Geneva (Jessie) Hill both of Saluda, SC and Virginia Burton of Edgefield, SC; three grandchildren; Alexis Hubert, Izabelle Thomas and Samyia Cannady; two aunts, Beulah (Alvin) Smith, Johnston, SC and Pauline Green of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Bible Way of Saluda conducted by District Elder Sylvester, Eulogist, Pastor Theodore Collins, presiding and other assisting.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Butler and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the Coutts and Stevens Families.
