Weekend Events Include Tour

The Edgefield County Development Association is presenting “Open Mic Night” at The Discovery Center, 501 Main Street, Edgefield, Friday, August 14 at 7 p.m.

Their flyer asks that participants bring their “singing voice, instruments, dancing feet or poetry!” The stage and Mic will be provided but there is a small charge.

There is the need to reserve seats in advance (637-3833) because only 80 seats are available.

Another weekend event, Saturday, August 15, is a tour of the Square which requires tickets (Tompkins Library 637-4010, limit 25 persons), from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. “Murder and Mayhem” is the theme of the tour. Local artists will be showing at the Tompkins Library and on the square.

ECDA is planning a Movie-on-the-Square in October, and the Heritage Holidays will follow.
