Head-On Collision on Hwy 25

A two vehicle, head-on collision occurred around 8:30 Monday morning, June 20, on Hwy 25 near Sarah’s Peach Stand.  The Advertiser spoke with a source Monday who heard the accident occur and then went to the scene.  According to that source, the driver of one vehicle, a male, was able to exit his vehicle after the crash and was walking around at the scene.  However, the other driver, a female, was trapped in her vehicle due to her left leg being stuck.  Our source, who stayed with this driver until emergency personnel arrived, stated that this driver was awake and talking.  Additionally, while the particulars of this accident were unavailable at press time, our source said that the accident produced injuries to both drivers’ sides of the vehicles involved

The SC Highway Patrol, the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, the Trenton Fire Department, and EMS responded to the scene.  According to an emergency responder on the scene, a transport helicopter was also called to the site to transport the injured female driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.  The male driver was transported by EMS.  None of the injuries sustained by either driver were reported to be life threatening.
