In the 56 years of Strom Thurmond High School’s Athletics, its teams have won 7 State Championships, 6 State Runners-up, and dozens of region championships. Strom Thurmond Athletes have won numerous individual awards such as All-State awards and All-Region awards. Strom Thurmond coaches have won many Region Coach of the Year honors, State coach of the Year honors, and even a National Coach of the Year honor. The athletes and coaches of Johnston High, Edgefield High, and W.E. Parker add to this impressive resume.

In an effort to recognize these men and women who have made Edgefield County School Athletics the envy of the state, the Strom Thurmond High School Athletic Department is proud to announce the creation of the Strom Thurmond Athletic Hall of Fame. The inaugural class will be inducted during the 2018 football season, and nominations for this initial class will begin to be taken on March 6, 2018. Nomination packets may be downloaded from the school athletic website, www.strebels.org, or picked up from the school. All nomination packets must be returned to the athletic department by May 14, 2018 for consideration in the inaugural class of inductees.

Athletes are eligible for nomination ten years after their class’s graduation. Such athletes must have competed in a SCHSL sanctioned varsity sport and must have excelled in said

sport. All verified accomplishments will be taken into account such as All Region, All-State, and any other regional, state, or national accolades.

Such coaches or administrators shall be eligible for nomination beginning five years after they have left Strom Thurmond High School, or in special circumstances as determined by the Board of Directors.
