Shamrock Run/Oyster Roast: Sat., March 17 on the square in Edgefield; Queen of the Leprechauns Parade on the square at 10:30 am; Shamrock Run from BiLo to the Square begins at 11 a.m. followed by Leprechaun Lap and other activities; Oyster Roast runs from 1-4 p.m. Tickets for the oyster roast are still available for $20.

Youth Praise and Worship: Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church will host a Youth Praise and Worship Service Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. The Christian  Heritage Youth Praise Band will lead the worship service. The public is invited.

Pastor’s Appreciation: Republican Grove Baptist Church will honor their pastor, Rev.Willie Patten, on his 11th Pastoral Appreciation, Sunday, March 18, at 11 a.m., Rev. David Colvin, pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, will be the guest minister. Everyone is invited to share in this occasion.

Gospel Concert & Spaghetti Dinner: Providence Baptist Church will host a Gospel Concert  & Spaghetti Dinner, March 18 at 6 p.m. with a Silent Auction during dinner. Proceeds go to Relay for Life with Donation at the Door.

Public Meeting: Women in Unity will hold a public meeting on March 19 at 6 p.m. at Piedmont Tech Conference Room. The purpose is to give the citizens an opportunity to become acquainted with the proposed Community Facilities project to purchase and renovate a building. The WIU is filing an application for a loan/grant with the US Department of Agriculture Rural Dvp. Community Facilities Program.

Auxiliary Meeting: The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #30 meets on Monday, March 19, at 3 p.m. at the Legion Post on Penn Street in Edgefield. All members are urged to attend. Visitors are welcome.

Brain Symposium: The Pilot Club of Greenwood will have its annual Brain Symposium on Tues., March 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Tower Point Medical Center. The topic is Bipolar Disorder. Blood Drive: Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold their March Blood Drive, Friday, March 30, from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Edgefield County Hospital and from 1:30-6 p.m. at Bi-Lo Shopping Center in Edgefield County.

Bi-Lo Egg Hunt: Bi-Lo’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held March 31. Pictures will be available and prizes in age groups: 1-2 yrs., 3-5 yrs., and 6-8 yrs. Sing up at the service center and all proceeds will go to Relay for Life.

Benefit: A benefit for Joe Prince will be held at 172 Holmes Pond Road, Johnston, on March 31 from 5 p.m. until with BBQ and entertainment. Tickets are $20 and will go towards medical expenses. Peach Blossom Beauty Pageant: The Johnston Miss Peach Blossom Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 31 at Johnston Elementary School Gymnasium at 10:00 and 3:00. Young ladies between the ages of birth-20 are invited to compete. A college scholarship will be given to the Miss Peach Blossom winner.

Relay for Life Beauty Pageant: The 2nd Annual Edgefield County Relay for Life Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 at WE Parker Elementary School. This pageant is only for Edgefield County residents or if attending school in Edgefield County.
