AUGUSTA, Ga. –  Mr. John (Sullivan) Newsome, 90, of North View Avenue, entered into rest July 7, 2012. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, July 14, 2012 at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Mr. Newsome, a native of Edgefield County was a member of Spring Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Phyllis Newsome; two nephews, Terry and Edward Newsome; two devoted cousins, Mattie V. Lofton and Ethel Williams; two devoted godsons, Sylvester Garnett and James Dunn; a goddaughter, Jacqueline Hardy; a dear friend, Freddie Elam; a host of cousins and friends.
