BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. – The Jeffrey Vaden Chavis Golf Tournament will be held Thurs., Oct. 11, at the Ponderosa Country Club, 190 Durango Drive. This special event is held annually in memory of fallen firefighter Jeff Chavis. Mr. Chavis was a Lexington County Firefighter who died in 2001 while battling a structure fire. The Chavis Family and Event Chairman Anthony Keisler established this event to create and support the Jeff Chavis House, a lodging facility for individuals and families, whose loved ones are being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
Registration begins at 12:00 p.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Foursome fees are $400. Tournament sponsorships are available for $500, which includes a team of four and company signage. For more information contact Anthony Keisler at (803) 356-3348.
Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation provides assistance to families of patients being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. The SFBF provides free lodging, meals, transportation and other essentials for family members, and pain medications and anti-scarring garments for patients upon their discharge from the Burn Center.
