Benjamin “Peanut” Riley, Jr.

WARRENVILLE, S.C. – Mr. Benjamin “Peanut” Riley, Jr., 60, of Warrenville, husband of 28 years to Mrs. Jo-Ann Anderson Riley, entered into rest on Thursday, December 20, 2012, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born in Edgefield County, a son of the late Benjamin Lee, Sr. and Sarah Louise Riseanger Riley, he had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1984. At a very early age his late father, Benjamin, Sr., started him selling peanuts on the street corners of Edgefield, earning him the nickname “Peanut”. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church, Edgefield. Peanut retried from the Swint Division of Avondale Mills where he was a weaver.

In addition to his wife and parents, family members include children, Jodie Lee Riley of Warrenville, Phillip Eugene Magee, Jr., of Aiken and Kellie Carlisle, of Pell City, AL, several siblings and twelve grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Sunday, December 23rd,  at 2:30 at The Fellowship of Truth, Graniteville, SC.
