Corey Allen Lynn

THONOTOSASSA, FL – Corey Allen Lynn, 25, of Thonotosassa, Florida, died following a motorcycle accident on Friday, October 4, 2013.

Corey served five years in the U.S. Army 1st Infantry Division (the Big Red 1) and achieved the rank of Specialist. During that time he was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas, and served two tours of duty in Iraq. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves in Tampa, Florida.

Corey was born September 23, 1988, in Jacksonville, Alabama. He was a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club and a charter member of its Lakeland Chapter. He was a 2007 graduate of East Bay High School in Gibsonton, Florida. He attended MMI Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida.

Corey’s father, Teddy E. Lynn III, is a former resident of Edgefield, a 1982 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and a former employee of the Johnston Police Department. Corey’s paternal grandfather, Teddy E. Lynn Jr., is a resident of Edgefield and a retired deputy with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to his father and paternal grandfather, Corey is survived by his stepmother, Kelly Lynn; mother and stepfather, Allanna and Steve Glusica; maternal grandfather, H. Allen Stephens; uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Southern Funeral Care in Riverview, Florida. Interment with military honors followed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
