Usher Board Anniversary: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Johnston Usher Board will celebrate their anniversary Sunday, October 19, at 4 p.m. The public is invited. Rev. Lewis Burt is pastor.

Archaeological Lectures: Edgefield County Historical Society will have a lecture on Old Edgefield Pottery by Justin Guy at Edgefield United Methodist Church on Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. On Oct. 26 the Trinity Episcopal Church will hear Nicole Isenbarger speak on the Pottersville excavation site at 6 p.m. Receptions will follow at Magnolia Dale. The public is invited.

Auxiliary Meeting: The American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Monday, October 20, at the Sr. Citizen Council Bldg. on Center Springs Road (beside W.E. Parker School) at 3:00 p.m. Guests will be the Girls State attendees and their mothers. ALSO REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR BAKED GOODS AT THE AMERICAN LEGION BUILDING BY 10 A.M. ON SATURDAY, OCT. 18.

Hymn Sing: Spann Church in Ward will have their 10th annual Hymn Sing on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. Pastor John Kneece will lead the singing and Wallace Watkins will play the piano. After the program of about an hour, there will be refreshments and fellowship. Peanut butter will be collected for the Johnston Food Bank. Visitors are warmly welcome.
